TOGETHER WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE!!

2013 MOOSEHEART OUTING #5 ANOTHER AMAZING DAY FOR SOME AMAZING KIDS!

OUTING 2013 WOW WHAT AN INCREDIBLE  DAY!! AGAIN WE WERE BLESSED TO GIVE OUR AMAZING KIDS  FROM MOOSEHEART A DAY OF FUN HERE MARCH 2013. THE ROAR OF LAUGHTER TOOK OVER THE PLACE AND IT DIDNT STOP FROM THE TIME THEY CAME TO THE TIME THEY LEFT!!! WE DID  CRAFTS,TYE DYE SHIRTS ,ROLLER SKATED, PLAYED BASKETBALL,FOOTBALL, SOCCER, WE ATE PIZZA THANKS TO  BEGGARS,CHESDANS,ROSATI, PAPA JOHNS,ANTHHONYS,FOXES,GIORDANOS, , WE ATE  PASTRIES THANKS TO COSTCO, AND  COTTON CANDY THANKS TO PATTY D'S COTTON CANDY!! THEY LEFT WITH INCREDIBLE  PRIZES TOPPING THEM WERE  BEAUTIFUL GIFT BAGS FROM THE EMPLOYEE FORCE AT BATH AND BODY WORKS OF ORLAND SQ MALL! WE HAD BOOKS, GAMES, ACTIVITY SETS THEIR ARMS WERE FILLED AS THEY  LEFT FOR  MOOSEHEART!

WE SIMPY COULD  NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT OUR KOHLS ACTION TEAM VOLUNTEER FORCE-

WHAT GRATEFUL CHILDREN, ALL OF THEM EXPRESSED A BIG THANK YOU WITH A SMILE !! WE LOOK FORWARD TO OUR NEXT ADVENTURE WITH THESE AMAING CHILDREN! ALL THAT WE DO WITH TOY BOX CONNECTION WE ALL AGREE THIS EVENT IS THE ICING ON THE CAKE FOR US !

Boy Scout’s Toy Drive fills semi-truck at Safety Town

Thanks to family, friends, neighbors, residents and members of the Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, Tim Corbett, a local Boy Scout in Troop 107, achieved his goal to “fill a semi” with new and gently-used toys for less fortunate girls and boys.  His Toy Drive, a project that will help him earn his Eagle Scout award, was held Sat., June 23, at Safety Town under sunny skies.

Though he lost count, young Corbett estimated nearly 150 generous people either dropped off toys recently at his house or on Saturday at Safety Town during the 5-hour Toy Drive to benefit the Toy Box Connection.

For the project, Corbett had to choose and manage a project that benefits the local community. He partnered with Toy Box Connection and Safety Town to complete the project.

Growing up, Corbett always wanted to find the cool toys he outgrew a new home.  He discovered Toy Box Connection through a newspaper article several years back and began donating the toys he outgrew.  Toy Box Connection supports underprivileged kids with new and gently used toys, games and books.

“I am doing this because I love helping children,” said Corbett earlier, now grateful for the outpouring of support he’d received.

At 2PM, Corbett, his friends and family were closing up the collection site, basking in the day’s success and time for a few photos.

The largest item was a backyard playhouse. Other donations included bicycles, big wheels, books, board games and a whole bunch of brand new toys from a toy store that had been slightly scratched or dented.

“Everything Tim needed for the day was donated,” said Bill Corbett, pleased that his son’s idea had been so well received by the community.  The semi-truck came from 3MD Re-location Services, Safety Town provided its parking lot for drop off event and 3MD bought lunch, he added.
